Sleeping Beauty

Animated Feature
Walt Disney; Directed by Clyde Geronimi
Rated G; 75 minutes; 1959

This classic animated fantasy, ablaze with wonder and set to the music of Tchaikovsky, represented a bold experiment for Disney and his artists and a major advancement for the art of animation. Adapting Charles Perrault's 17th century version of the famous fairy tale, the Disney team fashioned a thoroughly charming, dramatic and entertaining movie which, from its traditional storybook opening to the surging action of the dragon fight climax, is still widely regarded as Disney animation at its very best.
