DIAL M FOR MURDER

Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings

Warner Bros.; Directed by Alfred Hitchcock

Rated PG; 105 minutes; 1954

, VHS

Margot Wendice’s (Grace Kelly) husband Tony (Ray Milland) is determined to kill her for her money in this taut thriller. But suave and handsome Tony’s scheme does not go quite as planned. Alfred Hitchcock maintains a deliberately claustrophobic atmosphere by use of a tiny set of close camera work, making a statement in cinematic terms about how guilt can become a trap-fall resulting in one's own downfall.
