An accident at a nuclear power plant provides the basis for this gripping, chilling tale. While on a feature assignment, a TV news reporter (Jane Fonda) and her cameraman (Michael Douglas) secretly film an alleged drill at the plant because they do not believe the activities are routine. Jack Lemmon, the supervising engineer knows the danger involved and faces the prospect of a nuclear reactor burning a hole straight through the earth to China.
