The Baxter family unexpectedly inherits the estate of a distant Colorado uncle. But unfortunately, its principle asset, the Grand Imperial Hotel, is a dilapidated structure badly in need of repairs. Determined to make a go of it, the family leaves the rat race of New York City and attempts to turn the estate into a ski resort.
