Aunt Polly tells Tom to whitewash the fence as punishment for stealing some neighbor's apples. But shrewd Tom is able to trick other kids into doing the job for him. Then he and his friend Huck Finn take their raft to a Mississippi Island for three days. They are believed drowned, but on their return they become heroes by saving a citizen from the false accusations of Injun Joe.
