SISTER ACT

Whoopi Goldberg, Maggie Smith, Harvey Keitel

Touchstone Pictures; Directed by Emile Ardolino

Rated PG; 100 minutes; 1993

After witnessing a mob murder, Reno lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg) trades her sequins and feathers for a rosary and a habit when she is forced to go incognito as Sister Mary Clarence. This reluctant "nun" transforms a horrible church choir into a heaven-sent performing dynamo and saves a parish from being demolished in the process.
