Woody Allen plays Fielding Mellish, a tester of bizarre "Rube Goldberg" gadgets. He's got nothing going for him until, in a wild chain of events, he becomes the Castro-like leader of a mythical South American country. Hysterically satirical, BANANAS has something to offend and amuse everyone.
