Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson play pro-football players. They're teammates, the best of friends, and in love with the same woman (Jill Clayburgh). Reynold's efforts to break up the romance between Kristofferson and Clayburgh and to win her for himself, make SEMI-TOUGH a very funny sports story, a funnier love story, and an even funnier comedy.
