Gilbert Grape’s (Johnny Depp) dad committed suicide and left Gilbert with the responsibility of taking care of his 500 pound momma (Darlene Cates), who hasn’t been out of the house in years, and his retarded brother Arnie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Gilbert falls in love with Becky (Juliette Lewis), a vacationer just passing through town in this quirky drama.
