James Woods is frighteningly real as notorious attorney Roy Cohn, Senator Joseph McCarthy's loathsome lawyer who trampled on the lives of many during the communist witch-hunts of the 50s simply to grab personal fame and headlines. The story is told in flashbacks as Cohn is dying of AIDS in a New York hospital.
