Isn't She Great

Bette Midler, Nathan Lane, John Cleese, David Hyde Pierce
Universal Pictures; Directed by Andrew Bergman
Rated R; 93 minutes; 2000

ISN'T SHE GREAT depicts the vibrant, flamboyant and sometimes outrageous lives of author and celebrity Jacqueline Susann and her husband and manager Irving Mansfield. Author of "Valley of the Dolls," which was highly controversial when it was first published in 1966, Jacqueline Susann (Bette Midler), with the help of her husband (Nathan Lane), virtually invented herself as a writer after a disappointing string of failures in other areas of show business, and remarkably became the most successful novelist of her generation. Co-starring in the film are Stockard Channing ("PRACTICAL MAGIC"), David Hyde Pierce ("SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE") and John Cleese ("A FISH CALLED WANDA").
