This epic tale set in Thailand in the late 19th century chronicles the true-life adventures of British governess Anna Leonowens, who is hired by the King of Siam to educate his fifty-eight children. Soon after her arrival to this exotic, unfamiliar land, Anna finds herself engaged in a battle of wits with the strong-willed ruler. The story is based on historical information and Leonowens published works.
