RUBY IN PARADISE is a movie about courage, determination and pride. It’s the story of 20-year-old Ruby Lee Gissing, who gets in her car and drives away from her dead-end existence in Tennessee. She ends up in Florida, where she finds a job in a beachwear shop and begins the first chapter in her independent life. Faced with the challenges of real life (job, relationship, etc.) she finds the strength and focus to deal with them realistically and believably. RUBY IN PARADISE depicts the many ways life throws curve balls and the many ways of handling them, with a genuine quality rarely found in films.
