William (Heath Ledger) the squire is a first rate jouster. But only knights get to compete. So, he disguises himself as a knight in order to qualify for the games. Of course, he's jousting for more than just the thrill of winning. He's on a quest to defeat evil and to get the girl (Jocelyn Sossamon) in the process. Based on Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales.
