Set in Southern California at Pacific Palisades High, this romantic drama tells of a working-class Latino from East LA who falls for a wealthy girl with a host of emotional problems. Their respective friends and families do not approve of the pairing and the film deals with the ensuing complication of the culture clash. This story has been described as a cross between Love Story and Rebel Without a Cause.
