Set in North Carolina, we are presented with the story of Landon, a jaded, aimless high school senior who is the son of a wealthy family. He thinks that he does not need anyone but he finds himself falling in love with a carefree and innocent young woman, the daughter of the town’s minister, whom he and his friends once scorned. After their initial chance meeting brought about the school’s Christmas play, Landon begins to learn the about the things in life that cannot be bought – beauty, giving, loss and most importantly, the transformational power of love. Pop singer Mandy Moore plays in her first starring role.
