While most of the
worlds fishery stocks fall into decline when fishing efforts
increase, one lobster fishery in Maine appears to defy this equation.
Biologist Bob Steneck believes he has identified the key to the resilience
of Maine lobstering. The search is on for the motherloadgiant
lobsters that can live 100 years and just might be the answer to the
mystery of Maines healthy, sustainable lobster harvest.
