CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken

Dreamworks Pictures; Directed by Steven Spielberg

2002

This film is based on the amazing true story of Frank Abagnale, the youngest man to ever be put on the FBI's "most wanted list."   Starting at the tender age of 16, Frank began a five-year string of impersonations and forgeries.  Abagnale went by countless aliases but the FBI agent trailing him (Hanks) knew him as the Skywayman.  Abagnale managed to use his skills to cash in on millions of dollars. He took on such identities as an airline pilot, a doctor, a professor, and even an assistant attorney general. In the ultimate change of heart, Abagnale eventually reformed and went to work as a consultant for the FBI, the very agency that once used all of their resources to try to catch him.  Hanks plays FBI agent Joe Shaye, who respected Abagnale's abilities so much that even though he spent five years trying to catch him, when he was finally put in prison, Shaye negotiated his early release.
