A Century of Living

Documentary
HBO Films; Directed by Imre Horvath
60 minutes; 2002

Seventeen men and women who were born in 1900 or earlier share memories of their long lives – including how it feels to have lived through the entire 20th Century – in this poignant, life-affirming documentary. Mixing indelible black-and-white film and photographic images with the words of a cross-section of men and women, the film spans key epochs and trends of the last 100 years, underscoring the fact that while the quality fo our lives has changed so much over the past 100 years, the essence of our spirit has remained, essentially, the same.
