Set in Ireland in 1953 this is the true story of Desmond Doyle. When his wife abandons him he is found to be unfit to care for his children since he is unemployed. Although he is promised the return of his children upon securing employment they are instead kept in the horrific conditions of an orphanage while their father battles the courts. This film follows the rage, doubt and, ultimately, the power of the love of a father.
