Leland is a sensitive and
shy teenager who commits a seemingly senseless murder of an autistic
child. Though he claims is was out of
sympathy, he is sent to a juvenile detention center. There he meets a teacher who helps him discover why he committed
his crime and the ramifications for the community and both families.
