Edward
Bloom has always been a teller of tall tales especially about his own
life. He has created a past for himself
that has taken him from a small Alabama town on journeys around the work. His stories found him encountering giants,
blizzards, witches and he even had a run-in with conjoined-twin lounge singers. Now that he is dying, his estranged son Will
just wants to get a glimpse of what his father is really like.

IDEA:
Use
the title of the film literally and make a huge cutout of a fish and hang it up
on your student center with your show information on it.
Have
your students come up and tell the biggest tall tale they have ever told to get
out of trouble with parents, a professor, a boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. The winner gets a prize – the soundtrack
from the film, passes to your next movie, or maybe a DVD of another Tim Burton
favorite.
