Helen McCarter seemingly had the perfect life as she and her successful husband Charles lived in luxury. That all comes crashing down on her as Charles throws her out of the house on their 18th wedding anniversary to make room for his new woman. With a moving van of possessions, Helen begins the journey to put the pieces of her life back together. With the help of her friends and family - especially her pot-smoking, gun-toting grandmother - Helen finds an inner strength that helps her turn her tragedy into a comedy.
