This powerful film is an adaptation of the novel by Bishop T.D. Jakes who plays himself onscreen. Michelle is a woman on death row who is a composite of many of the women he has counseled over the years. Her history includes a childhood filled with physical and sexual abuse, poverty and neglect, which led her to prostitution and drug abuse later in life. The Bishop arrives to try to offer redemption to a woman who has been so left behind by the world that she might not be capable of forgiveness.
