Based on a true story, student activist and Mexican-American Paula Crisostomo realizes the disparity in treatment of Hispanic students and stages a peaceful walkout in five East Los Angeles high schools in 1968. Along with the help of her teacher Sal Castro, Crisostomo brought the injustice of the public school system to the forefront during the heart of the Civil Rights movement of the 60s.
