Cooper, a political columnist for a large Chicago newspaper, gets hit on the head and starts to lose his short-term memory. While he is recovering, he takes a trip with his high school sweetheart to visit his Alzheimer's-addled uncle. His uncle convinces them to take him to a memorabilia show where the group concocts a scheme to sell a rare baseball card.
