Fueled by Wild Turkey and superhuman doses of drugs, we are shown Thompson's major touchstone moments such as his ill-fated relationship with the Hell’s Angels, his involvement in George McGovern’s 1972 presidential campaign and much more through clips of never-before-seen home movies, audiotapes and passages from unpublished manuscripts.
